Re: What size Argon bottle Average tig flow is between 15-20 cubic feet per hour. So figure an 80 cf cylinder will last you about 4 hours. Personally I wouldn't go smaller unless you really needed it to be portable. Gas costs less per cubic foot, the bigger the cylinder is.
I noticed that my argon bottle is nearing the end of its supply. It is approximately 4ft tall (don't know what size of CF it is.) How low do you let yours get? I would assume it isn't wise to let your own bottles run till empty. Is this the case? I saw some threads on acetelyne bottles but wasn't sure if this is the case for argon.

Argon and C25 are just about only used for welding so those probably would need to be imported. Even scuba tank compressors could fill CO2 welding tanks if you have a source to generate CO2 gas.
Argon in a tank is a gas and it last at the rate you use it in cfh (cubic feet per hour). when it gone it's gone. Carbon dioxide is a liquid in the tank and it changes (vaporizes) to a gas as you use it until all the liquid is gone.
I am going to be doing intercooler pipes out of aluminum mild steel - anything I need to know when joining to pipes together? TIG welder using 2% thoriated I have straight argon as well as Argon w/ CO2.
